From the Office of the Mayor
I would like to welcome all visitors to the finest city in Wyoming! When you experience the hometown attitude of our fine citizens, you will realize what a wonderful place Douglas is to visit and live. We have great schools for our children, a diverse economy, and lots of great local businesses and attractions, including a vibrant downtown. I would encourage you to check out our downtown shops and local brewery. If you enjoy golf, we have a fantastic 18-hole golf course for your pleasure. We have a wonderful Visitor's Center that showcases our historic train display at the Railroad Interpretive Center, and is a great place for area information, attractions, and opportunities. Contact The Enterprise for more information about the Visitor's Center at 307-358-2000.
You may not know that Douglas is one of the prime communities along the path of the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse in August, 2017. Come explore our community and surrounding area and enjoy the natural beauty of our City, our County, and the great state of Wyoming! Don’t forget to see the Jackalope and have your picture taken with this mythical creature, and remember that the Wyoming State Fair calls Douglas home as well. If you need anything in my fine city, do not hesitate to email or call me.
About City Council
The City of Douglas operates under a mayor-council form of government, with an appointed city administrator. The mayor presides at meetings of the City Council and is recognized as the head of city government for all ceremonial purposes. The mayor and City Council establish objectives for the operation of the city and act as the policy making body. This body plays a fundamental role in the direction the community takes from year to year.
The City of Douglas is committed to providing efficient and cost-effective public services. We strive to maintain public trust and confidence in local government and to improve the quality of life for all residents of the community.
